Sam Jones, III, who played Pete Ross in the first 3 seasons of Smallville, is returning to the show during the second half of the season according to an exclusive by IGN. Pete Ross was the first person outside of the Kent family to learn of Clark’s secret. The character moved to Wichita with his mother and was never heard from again. However, in an episode titled “Hero,” Pete returns having gained superpowers from meteor rock exposure.Fans have wanted Sam to return for several seasons, but scheduling conflicts kept the actor away. I am just glad to see some diversity return to the show. It would be better if he returned as a recurring character. (I know Phil Morris is black, but he’s playing an alien, so that doesn’t count).
