Yes, I know Im a week behind, It one fo my new year resolution to stay on schedule. I’m a big fan of the Marvels Ultimate Universe, especially the Ultimates. That being said my least favorite character on the team was Iron Man, until I read Orson Scott Card’s first Ultimate Iron Man limited series. This guy gets this character and he should write him forever. What makes this issue really enjoyable is the development of the friendship of young James Rhodes and Tony Stark. It reemphasizes the fact that Stark didn’t build the Iron Man armor by himself, it was a partnership between him and Rhodes. We get to see both of them in armor for the first time so technically you could say this is the first appearance of Ultimate War Machine. Since this book covers the teenage years of Stark it makes you wonder where the hell is the adult version of James Rhodes in current Ultimate books.
