Adidas makes Hellboy kicks (Why?)

Why would anybody over the age of 8 want a pair of Hellboy shoes.   I have a lot of love for the comics, animated and the film verisons of Hellboy, so I’m not hating on Hellboy in general, just the shoes.   I guess if Nike can make Freddy Kruger shoes, then why not HB.   So maybe my dream of Luke Cage platform shoes will come true.

I could be wrong,  Maybe the ladies love a man in a fresh pair of demon kicks.  (click here for more pics)

Sometimes I wonder what the world would be like if it wasn't for George Lucas's influence in movie merchandise and licensing.

    Cross Pollination.

The whole idea of “da' shoes,” is to build a buzz within the shoe-culture community…young, hip, irreverant people, generally speaking, with decent sources of income. Adidas is a global brand which lends its notoriety to smaller “brands,” like Hellboy.

Its an excellent form of alternative marketing and it builds an overall value to the HB Brand as this shoe will, no doubt, be a limited collector's edition. In addition, it gives Adidas a differential versus the Nikes and the smaller boutique sneaker lines of the world.

HellBoy will never be a merchandising juggernaut but, an opportunity is there to create a street level buzz (that word again). Word of Mouth is powerful and free tool.

Then again these shoes may end up in your local Ross Dress For Less within a year.
