Cross Pollination.

The whole idea of "da' shoes," is to build a buzz within the shoe-culture community...young, hip, irreverant people, generally speaking, with decent sources of income. Adidas is a global brand which lends its notoriety to smaller "brands," like Hellboy.

Its an excellent form of alternative marketing and it builds an overall value to the HB Brand as this shoe will, no doubt, be a limited collector's edition. In addition, it gives Adidas a differential versus the Nikes and the smaller boutique sneaker lines of the world.

HellBoy will never be a merchandising juggernaut but, an opportunity is there to create a street level buzz (that word again). Word of Mouth is powerful and free tool.

Then again these shoes may end up in your local Ross Dress For Less within a year.
