I want to believe too. That this movie was going to be stellar. But it turns out to be just one supersize episode. For most X-Philes, that would be enough. However, 10 years would seem to be enough time for Chris Carter to come up with an amazing script and story worthy of the big screen. It was what I thought it would be, just another episode. The good thing about it is that it takes the X-Files back to its roots, much like the first 3 seasons. Whether that was by design or not, I don’t know. The movie was okay. Die hard fans, you’ll love it, if you weren’t one, pass.

I never understood why they made this movie in the first place. I never thought the concept translated to the big screen. Its series long story arc was the only thing that made it interesting. You can't compress that kind of story into a film
