The Oni Press graphic novel “Julius” was picked up by Mandalay Pictures for the big screen treatment. F. Gary Gray (Be Cool, A Man Apart, The Italian Job) has been attached as director. I think this is a great choice if this gets done. “Julius” is a urban retelling of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar.” Obviously there will be comparisons to 2001’s “O”, which I thought was an excellent adaptation. I will say that I am excited about a black man being the director.
