I don’t get Batman RIP

Batman R.I.P. is finally over and I still don’t get it. I have reread it several times and I still feel the same way. I felt like I was either looking for something that want there or that i was missing something that was right in my face. If you are as confused as I am, I suggest you read Jon Haehnle’s review at Popcultureshock. It cleared up a number of things. I still think its a badly written story by Morrison but at least I understand what happened.

Amen to the confusion about Batman R.I.P.
Can these writers just do a hero vs villian plot without all the physcho babble soap opera like drama. The Joker’s involvement was confusing, Nightwings capture, Robin is always confusing and I thought Alfred got the crap beat out of him some issues back.
The The Dark Knight jumps the hellicopter and is like gone (scratching head again) I wish the dc and marvel universe would just go back to the days when the villians just broke the law (buglaries, kidnappings, murder, rule the planet ect) and the heroes came and foiled the plans and beat the crap out of them. These stories that leak thru all the comics on their roster ( ie Crisis, Skrull Invation(and please don’t let me get on that ending dagg!!!) are too much, so is the price of these daggon books. I’ll just have to go back in my vaults ( that’s boxes) and pull out my oldies but goodies and reread them until these new geeks running these comic joints get back to the basics of comic writing. Leave the soaps to daytime television. Peace. ps. I love your blog page.
